A little bit wine, a little bit country.
Potatoes aren’t Idaho's only showstopper of a crop. On the western edge of Caldwell in the Snake River Valley AVA, Southwest Idaho wines thrive. Its rolling hills share the same latitude as famous wine regions like Italy, Spain, and France’s Bordeaux and Rhône, making it a prime spot for growing exceptional grapes.
Southwest Idaho’s vineyards may be younger than those of old-world Europe, but this region is widely acclaimed for its wines and breathtaking views. You won’t find any stuffy tasting rooms, either — many welcome kids and host events with live music and food trucks. So come see, and taste, what’s so special about the wine country in this friendly corner of Idaho, just a 45-minute drive from downtown Boise.
